masako thrower - northwest artists in action

Masako was born and raised in Yokohama, Japan. For 20 years, she worked as an Import’s Specialist, while studying drawing and oil painting. She left Japan in 1972 and was married in Hawaii. Since 1975, Masako has resided in Kenmore.
After her relocation, there were many years when she was not involved in any form of art because she was learning to adjust to a new language and culture while working at the same time. However, her passion for art was always there. Masako began sculpting with clay in 1998 at the Francis Anderson Center in Edmonds, and in the spring of 2002 started acrylic painting.
In 2004 she joined this group, where she actively participates in the public showing and demonstrations. Her works have won first , second or peoples’ choice awards in shows she has entered.
